Topic Phase: My favourite book
My favourite book is “An American girl” , it’s a novel by Meg Cabot. It’s the story of Samantha; she is fourteen and she likes art. One day at school she gets a bad mark in German so her parents decide to book her in an art course. Once there she meets David. One day she doesn’t go at course and instead goes to her favourite shops. As she going out, she manages to save the President of USA by a cruel person. She ends up in Hospital and the president invites Samantha and her family to dinner at White House. They agree and a few evenings later they go; Samantha discovers that David is the son of the President. Samantha becomes the adolescents ‘ ambassador at Unicef.
I got this book at Christmas and I read it in five days.
I really like the book because is very interesting and I empathise in the protagonist.
I’ve just read another book of the same author: “The Princess Diaries”.
Moreover I’ve already seen the film “Pretty Princess”, and its continuation
“Princess Diaries 2- Royal Engagement”, with Julie Andrews and Anne Hathaway. The plat of “The Princess Diaries”: Mia is 15 years old. One day her grandmother, the queen, tells her that she is a Genovia’s princess. She is very confused but accepts. She becomes princess of Genovia.
I prefer “An American Girl” because the plat is more gripping and more amusing than “Princess Diaries”.
