THE MEDIEVAL DRAMA
In the middle age the society was trained by church’s issues. It represented virtually everything. The clergy showed itself by great feast days: Easter, Christmas etc. During the 13th,14th and 15th centuries three type of play were created:
• miracle plays → they were performed outdoors their stage were the pageants a sort of wagons in front of which people saw the performance. Actors were trade guilts without a study preceding
• morality plays the actors were the personifications of human vices and virtues. One of the most important is Everyman. They used invented plots. Actors were members of associations.
• Interludes they began popular at the end of the 15th century they were performed at lord’s houses by small acting companies.
The knight
This part of Canterbury Tales describes the value of chivalry in Knight: truth, honour, generousness and courtesy. Chaucer exalts him expressing most of his fight against bad knights or heathens.
