HAMLET di William Shakespeare
The king of Denmark - Hamlet's father - has died suddenly in tragic circunstances; his brother Claudius has succeeded him and married his widow, Gertrude, before two months have gone by. Prince Hamlet learns from his father's ghost that Claudius had murdered him after seducing his wife Gertrude. To obey the ghost order the REVENGE his death, Hamlet pretends to be mad and even refuses the love of Ofelia, who eventually becames insane and drowns herself. After killing Ofelia's father, Polonius, who is spide on them from behind a courtain, Hamlet arranges the performances of a play representing his uncle's crime.
The play confermes Claudius' guilt, but Hamlet puts off his revenge to the end, when a match is organized by the king between Hamlet and Laertes (Ofelia's brother). During the duel, Hamlet kills Laertes, buti he is in his turn mortally woundede. Mean while Gertrude drinks from a poisoned cup prepared from Hamlet and dies. Soon afterwords Hamlet too, after stabbing the king and making him, drink off the rest of the poisoned cup, dies in the arms of his only friend, Oratio.
