Article: SPORT ON THE STREET

Are you fed up with the usual sports like football, volley, tennis…?
Do you need something more interesting? The answer is street luge.

Street luge is born in the U.S.A. and it derives from “its cousin” skateboard.
Now this sport is officially recognised also in Italy.

Street luge is placed in the category of adventure sport because it involves risks; it consist of going down throughout downhill streets.
The tool used is a bit different from the normal skateboard because it must afford the user to be stretched out.
Street lugers have to use a special equipment. It’s important to wear an antitear suit, to protect the whole body, and shoes with soles in good conditions, that can be used as brakes. The use of leather gloves and a helmet is compulsory.
The speed reached can go over 150 km an hour.
