G. Chaucer: write Chanterbury tales a most famous narrative poem (1387). Is a collection of stories, and written in verse or prose. Chaucher whit 29 pilgrims goes to the shrine of T.Becket that was murdered because he refused king Henry II’s § Each pilgrims have to tell 4 stories (2-2) on the way to Canterbury and to London, but the work is incomplete (only 24) § Physician: is well versed in medicine and surgerybut also understands astrologyand the influence of the stars. He cures the men with some potions, he had his chemists; he kept his patient long in observations and advices a moderate fare without excess. He is a lover of gold.
Prioress: is pityful, charitable, friendly, pleasant, elegant, dignifide and polite; she had a good manners at table, she is moved by a mouse cought in a trap.She didn’t behave like a prioress because a nun didn’t wear any jewels or any rich clothes: she behaves like a true lady.
W. of Bath: is a buisness woman, in company she is laught and joke. She travelled very much. She had 5 hausband and many other loversin youth. She wearing a hat on her head and her stockings were of finest scarlet red, laced very tightly.She had a pair of sharp spurs on feet
Monk: is a leader of the fashion, a manly man to be Abbot. He had the passion for hunting. and to riding: infact he had many horses, bird and one dog; he didn’t consider the man which said that hunters are not holy men. He ignored the rule of St Benedet. He was a good man to horse.He was fat and personable:like a fat swan. He had big fashioned pin and very soft boots.
